How to clean garden tools

Cleaning garden tools is important to keep them in good condition and prevent the spread of diseases. Here are the steps to clean garden tools:
  1. Remove any dit and debris from the tool with a wire brush or putty knife.
  2. Soak a rag or sponge in a bucket of warm water and add a small amount of dish soap.
  3. Wipe the tool down with the soapy rag, making sure to remove any remaining dirt or debris.
  4. Rinse the tool with a hose or a bucket of clean water.
  5. Dry the tool with a clean rag or towel.
  6. Apply a light coating of oil or wax to the metal parts of the tool to prevent rust.
  7. Store the tool in a dry place, such as a shed or garage.

If the tool has any rust or is very dirty, you may need to use a wire brush or sandpaper to remove the rust before cleaning it with soap and water. You can also disinfect garden tools with a solution of one part bleach to nine parts water, but be sure to rinse and dry the tools thoroughly afterwards.
